School Council 2018/19

Our School Council includes 2 children from each class in Year 1 to Year 6.

We meet with Mrs Fahy and Miss Mulligan at different times throughout the year to discuss different issues.

We run and judge competitions, discuss how our school can be improved and are a voice for the other children in our class.

Our Meetings

We were chosen by our classmates and went to our first meeting. We talked about ourselves and what we thought it meant to be in the School Council. We had our photographs taken for the school council display which is displayed in the hall.

We launched the Anti-Bullying Competition to design a T-Shirt with the slogan 'Choose Respect.'

The school council picked 3 winners, Mila and Sofia both from yr2H and Omonze from yr 6H. Well done!

UPDATE: Omonze went on to win 2nd prize overall at the Healthy Schools office. Her design along with two others has been sent to schools throughout Manchester to be displayed in windows as a clear message against bullying.

Anti-Bullying week was 12th-16th November. We had a meeting and created an assembly to share with the rest of the school. We talked about what bullying is, what it isn't and what to do if you see it or experience it happening both in and out of school.

We met to discuss our green card reward system. The school council had to report back to their classes and gather ideas from their class mates about nice reward ideas that Mr McGuiness could organise easily for the winners each half term. Some great ideas have been gathered and Mr McGuiness is starting with a smoothie making and multi-sports afternoon in January!

Look out for us around school and let us know if there is anything you would like us to talk about in our next meeting!
