Read Manchester

Reading is like a journey - where will you go?
is the latest initiative from Read Manchester to promote reading across the city. The campaign from Manchester City Council and the National Literacy Trust to promote reading for pleasure has joined forces with Transport for Greater Manchester to encourage children to explore different authors and genres using the Metrolink map as inspiration.

Aimed at Key Stage 2, the map encourages children to “travel” between different lines, such as the Mystery line to the Magic line. By exploring the map, children can discover new books to take their reading in different directions.

The books can be found at Manchester Libraries, available to borrow in physical and digital formats.

Why not download your own map and see where your reading journey takes you?
