Our School Prayers

We pray whenever and wherever we wish to do so, and we know that we can pray in whichever words or thoughts we choose. We know that some prayers do not even need words- we can speak to God through our hearts. We pray through song and through our actions. We pray in groups, big and small, as well as on our own. 

We have particular prayers that we all learn and pray together. Examples of these are 'Our Father', 'Hail Mary', 'Eternal Rest' and our Live Simply Prayer. Different groups, such as the School Council, have their own special prayers which they pray at each meeting. Our teachers pray together in their meetings, too.

Below are some of the prayers that we say at specific times during our school day.

Morning Prayer

Oh my God you love me.

You're with me night and day.

I want to love you always, in all I do and say.

I'll try to please you Father Bless me through the day.

Amen

Prayer Before Meals

Bless us, oh God, as we sit together,

Bless the food we eat today,

Bless the hands that made the food,

Bless us, Oh God,

Amen.

Prayer After Meals

Thank you God for the food we have eaten,

Thank you God for all our friends.
Thank you God for everything,

Thank you God,

Amen

Evening Prayer

Father in Heaven,

I come to say thank you for Your love today.

Thank you for my Family and all the friends you give to me.

Guard me in the dark of night and in the morning send your light.

Amen.
