The social and emotional skills, knowledge and behaviours that young people learn in the classroom can help them to build resilience and set the pattern for how they will manage their emotional health and mental wellbeing throughout their lives. The children at Christ the King RC Primary School have a wealth of curriculum and pastoral opportunities to support their emotional health and mental wellbeing and we are proud of the programmes of support we offer to our pupils.
In recent years, the Government and Ofsted have begun to place a great deal of emphasis on staff wellbeing and workload in schools, and we have embraced this initiative, linking with our HR partners, One Education, to further develop our staff wellbeing. Our Wellbeing Project, led by Mrs Malone and a team of staff from different roles within school, aims to benefit all staff at Christ the King. Of course, in order to effectively promote emotional health and mental wellbeing in children, it is crucial that the adults in schools learn approaches and strategies to manage their own wellbeing so we can then teach the children how to access some of these same tools.
We look forward to sharing more details once our project gets underway!
