Christ The King RC Primary School

Governors

Governing Boards of Catholic voluntary aided schools are the employers and admissions body for the school. The board consists of members drawn from a range of backgrounds including parents, staff, the local authority, the parish and wider school community.

Our governors have built a successful partnership with the teachers and parents at the school. This has allowed the Governing Body to work together with the school community for the benefit of the children at Christ the King.

“Leaders and governors are highly ambitious for the school. Their actions have ensured that pupils’ personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding.”

- Ofsted.

The Governing Body has two Parent Governors elected by the parents of the school. It also includes a Staff Governor elected by the school staff. These governors serve for a period of four years. There are also Foundation Governors appointed for a four year period by the Diocese of Salford. In addition, there is an LA Governor appointed by Manchester City Council.

The Governing Body meets at least once a term and governors also attend other committee meetings. Their role involves:

  • Maintaining the Catholicity of the school
  • General running of the school
  • Policy development
  • Planning the school budget
  • Selecting and appointing staff
  • Supporting school discipline
  • Producing annual reports for parents
  • School development planning

If you wish to contact a member of the Governing Body please leave your contact details with the school office. They will be passed on to the relevant governor, who will in turn contact you.

Alternatively, you can make contact via email. Simply email the school office at contact@christtheking.manchester.sch.uk. Your details will be passed on to the governor and they will get in touch.
