All about me / My Family and I

In the Early Years Foundation Stage, the children will begin to learn that as they grow up they are increasingly able to do more things for themselves independently.  The children will talk about the lives of the people around them and their roles in society.
The children will know some similarities and differences between things in the past and now, drawing on their experiences and what has been read in class.
The Children will understanding the past through settings, characters and events
encountered in books read in class and storytelling.

How can parents/carers support learning at home?

You can reinforce and support pupils' learning in lots of ways:

  • Talk to your child about things they did when they were a baby/ were younger.
  • Share photographs and looks at objects, clothing, toys and books kept from when they were a baby.
  • Talk to your child about who is in their family, where they are from.
  • Share memories about celebrations experienced together.
  • Encourage your child to talk about their day, memories of experiences shared together.
